LW Arts CIC Triumphs at Nottingham Film Festival 2024 with "Dancing Through Time"

We are thrilled to announce that LW Arts CIC has won the Documentary Category at the Nottingham Film Festival 2024 with our recent project, Dancing Through Time. This incredible achievement is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and dedication of everyone involved in bringing this powerful documentary to life.

Dancing Through Time is a deeply personal exploration of the life and legacy of the remarkable Miss Nora Morrison MBE, a beloved figure in Nottingham. Through the documentary, we delved into her extensive contribution to the cultural landscape of our city, with a particular focus on her work at Clarendon Chambers over the decades. Miss Morrison’s history and heritage are woven into the fabric of Nottingham, and it was a privilege to bring her story to the screen.

This project would not have been possible without the generous support of The National Heritage Lottery Fund. We are incredibly grateful for their belief in the importance of preserving local heritage and for making this documentary a reality. Their funding allowed us to research Miss Morrison's life in depth, explore her impact on the community, and celebrate her profound influence on the arts.

A special thanks goes to Mo Cooper, the gifted social historian who brought her expertise to the project. Mo’s meticulous research ensured that every aspect of Miss Morrison's life and legacy was captured with accuracy and respect. Her deep knowledge of Nottingham’s history played a vital role in shaping the documentary.

We also owe a huge thank you to our talented videographer, André Bonser, whose vision, creativity, and technical expertise made this documentary truly come alive. Andre not only filmed but also produced Dancing Through Time, ensuring that Miss Morrison’s story was told with elegance and emotional depth.

As part of our commitment to sharing Miss Morrison's legacy, all of the research files from this project will be archived at Nottingham Central Library and will be freely accessible to the public. We believe in preserving history for future generations, and this archive will provide a valuable resource for anyone interested in learning more about Miss Morrison’s impact on Nottingham’s heritage.

Lastly, we want to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who featured in the film. Your stories, experiences, and memories of Miss Morrison brought the documentary to life. Your contributions made this project not just a historical account, but a heartfelt tribute to a woman who touched so many lives.

We are beyond grateful to everyone who played a part in Dancing Through Time and are honoured to receive this recognition at Nottingham Film Festival 2024.. This award is a celebration of Miss Nora Morrison’s life and a reminder of the power of storytelling to keep our heritage alive.

Here’s to preserving our past, celebrating our present, and inspiring future generations!
