An Exciting Lineup of Performances

CommuniTree Festival will be a feast for the senses, offering an extraordinary lineup of live music performances that showcase the rich diversity of our community. Here’s a glimpse of the incredible acts set to perform:

  • The Dhol Foundation: Led by master drummer Johnny Kalsi, The Dhol Foundation is renowned for its high-energy performances that blend the traditional Punjabi dhol drum with global beats. Expect a powerful fusion of rhythms that will get everyone on their feet and moving to the beat.

  • Sidiki Dembélé Ensemble: Hailing from the Ivory Coast, Sidiki Dembélé is a master percussionist known for his skillful command of West African rhythms. His ensemble brings together traditional African instruments, including the djembe and balafon, to create a sound that is both deeply rooted in tradition and vibrantly contemporary.

  • Take 1 Dance: This dynamic dance troupe brings a unique blend of street dance, hip-hop, and contemporary styles to the stage. Their high-energy performances are not just about movement—they’re about telling stories, expressing emotion, and connecting with the audience on a visceral level.

  • Millicent Chapanda: A Zimbabwean mbira musician and singer, Millicent Chapanda is known for her soul-stirring performances that blend traditional Shona music with modern influences. Her music is deeply spiritual, often exploring themes of identity, heritage, and resilience.

  • Big Ship Alliance: Bringing the infectious grooves of Jamaican reggae to the festival, Big Ship Alliance is all about spreading positive vibes. With their deep basslines, skanking rhythms, and uplifting lyrics, this band is sure to create a feel-good atmosphere that resonates with all ages.

  • Gnawa Blues All Stars: This group fuses the hypnotic rhythms of Moroccan Gnawa music with contemporary blues, creating a unique and mesmerising sound. The band’s performances are an immersive experience, blending spiritual chants with intricate instrumentation.

And that's just the beginning! Many more acts are set to grace our stages, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Workshops to Inspire and Connect

But the festival isn’t just about watching—it’s about participating, learning, and connecting with others. We’re offering a series of workshops designed to inspire creativity and promote wellbeing. Dance enthusiasts can dive into Cuban Salsaand Dominican Bachata workshops, experiencing the joy of Latin rhythms. For those seeking something different, try your hand at Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art that combines dance, acrobatics, and music, or discover the art of relaxation with our Aromatherapy Art sessions.

If you’re looking to move with freedom and joy, our Ecstatic Dance workshops will provide a space to express yourself fully through movement. These workshops, along with many others, are designed to bring people together, encouraging a sense of community, creativity, and cultural exchange.
