Continued support from The Winifred Eileen Kemp Trust
We are very proud to have once again been awarded a grant from The Winifred Eileen Kemp Trust. We were first awarded a grant from the trust back in 2018 and then again in 2019. This ongoing support means that we can continue to deliver structured programmes of our creative arts workshops in special education schools across Nottinghamshire. Our new set of workshops will be a part of our project, Rhythm Works.
In previous years, we have worked with adult groups across the city and county and also children of all ages in schools. Workshops have included group hand drumming and the inclusion of therapeutic rhythmic exercises to help enhance participants’ mental and emotional wellbeing.
Our latest grant will support our team of creative practitioners in a collective of our partner schools in Nottingham. These include Nethergate School in Clifton and Oak Field School in Bilborough - two of our favourite schools!
We will also offer free of charge workshops to partner organisations in Nottingham, such as Footprints Conductive Education Centre and the Down’s Syndrome Association.
From all of us at LW Arts, we’d like to say a huge thank you to the trust for acknowledging the positive impact of our work upon children and adults with additional learning needs. We’ll look forward to keeping the Trust updated as our project develops.
