A Party in the Rainforest!

Back in 2017, we began crafting the content of our percussion and hand drumming workshops for babies, toddlers, and children in Early Years settings around Nottingham. After a successful school tour with our ‘Jumping Djembes’ project, and with support from our local families, we decided to start making plans to write a musical theatre piece that would include all of the exciting music, songs and movement from our workshops, and also accompany these with an engaging storyline.

After two successful tours in schools, we are looking forward to the re-opening of festivals in 2022 so we can complete a full-scale events tour of our play, A Party in the Rainforest. Complete with life-size puppets, the piece has engaged young audiences and across Nottinghamshire and the Midlands.

We are very thankful to Arts Council England for supporting our theatrical work and for empowering us to develop our ideas.
